Guided Fishing Trips

Brazos on the Fly caters to beginners and experienced fly fishermen and women alike. If you'd like to learn how to fly fish we will focus on casting basics, reading the river, and the various types of flies. If getting on the water and catching fish is your goal practice your casting before your trip and I'll work to get you on some great Brazos river fish!

As an independent guide using a canoe 1-2 clients are the ideal amount for a trip. If you would like to book a trip for more than two people, please give us a call and we will try to accommodate you with a wading only trip.

Children over the age of 10 are welcome but minors should be accompanied by an adult.

We do not allow children under the age of 10 on our river trips. Although we want to foster a love for fly fishing in all ages liability, heat, bugs, snakes, and other things can make these trips uncomfortable and trying for younger children. If you'd like to get your child younger than 10 years hooked on fly fishing, give us a call and we can try to set something up in a more kid friendly environment.

Location

Highway 16 Bridge

Unless other arrangements are specified, fishing trips will begin at the put in ramp at the Highway 16 bridge below Morris Sheppard Dam on Possum Kingdom Lake. If you put the Possum Kingdom State Fish Hatchery in your favorite map app it will get you there. Keep going South past the hatchery and park on either side of the bridge as specified by me. If you are heading North on Highway 16 you'll reach the bridge before the Hatchery.
