Brazos on the Fly caters to all anglers. If you'd like to learn how to fly fish we will focus on casting basics, reading the river, and the various types of flies and techniques. If getting on the water and catching fish is your goal practice your casting before your trip and I'll work to get you on some great Brazos river fish! Scroll down to see pricing for our trip offerings.

All trips include the use of Orvis Helios 3D and Orvis Recon fly rods, as well as Redington and Sage rods. Flies are provided. If you prefer to bring your own that's great as well! If you choose to bring your own flies get in contact with me prior to your trip and I can provide some guidance on the fly selection that will best suit your trip timeline.
Full day trips include a lunch, snacks, and water with cooler space for any drinks you may want to bring. You are welcome to bring your favorite alcoholic beverage but please drink responsibly. Anglers 17 years of age and older need to purchase a Texas fishing license which can be purchase on the Texas Parks and Wildlife Website. Full day trips typically run 8 hours.

Hog Island Skiff Trips
Half Day: $375 (1-2 Anglers)
Full Day: $475 (1-2 Anglers)
What to Expect: The Hog Island skiff is our baby! She's set up with oars, a poling (or casting) platform, a forward casting brace and a 30hp jet outboard. Trips with this boat are not limited to the Brazos river but it does allow us to fish some of the farther reaches of the Upper Brazos river below Possum Kingdom Lake. We can also hit some of the local lakes if that is your preference or if the river is too low or too high.
Not included: Waders (needed only in winter and cooler temperatures), sun protection, wading boots/shoes, rain coat, change of clothes, towels.
North Texas weather is sometimes unpredictable. Trips will be conducted unless unsafe weather conditions (lightning, hail, tornadic likelihood, etc.) are imminent.
Wading Trips
Half Day: $300 (1-2 anglers)
Full Day: $350 (1-2 anglers)
What to expect: Fish up to 3 miles of the Brazos river below Morris Sheppard dam. This trip is great for anglers looking to learn a little bit more about casting, wading, and just getting outdoors. This stretch of river can be crowded depending on the season so be prepared to show up early to get a good starting spot. There are plenty of opportunities for fish in this stretch but depending on fishing pressure and weather/water conditions, results can vary.
Not included: Waders (needed only in winter and cooler temperatures), sun protection, wading boots/shoes, rain coat, change of clothes, towels.

Location
Highway 16 Bridge
Unless other arrangements are specified, fishing trips will begin at the put in ramp at the Highway 16 bridge below Morris Sheppard Dam on Possum Kingdom Lake. If you put the Possum Kingdom State Fish Hatchery in your favorite map app it will get you there. Keep going South past the hatchery and park on either side of the bridge as specified by me. If you are heading North on Highway 16 you'll reach the bridge before the Hatchery.
